TOP GLOVE LENDS HELPING HAND TO SUPPORT WAR ON COVID-19

World’s largest manufacturer of gloves pledges donation of 2.5 million life-saving gloves

Shah Alam, Monday, 23 March 2020 Top Glove Corporation Bhd (Top Glove) the world’s largest manufacturer of gloves, has committed to donating 2.5 million pieces of medical gloves to aid in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The glove donations were made through Top Glove Foundation, the company’s charity arm, the recipients for which include the Ministry of Health, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association (MARGMA) and many others.

Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai, Executive Chairman of Top Glove said, “We are pleased to be in a position to help the many front liners who are putting their lives on the line on a daily basis. We believe proper use of these gloves will help protect these selfless people. We also hope this pandemic, which has caused so much suffering and disruption on a global scale, will come to an end soon”.

“Top Glove will continue to work safely and efficiently to ensure production of our life-saving gloves continues without interruption. To this end, it is of utmost importance that all suppliers within the supply chain including logistics, work with us to ensure timely production and delivery of gloves, which are essential items especially during this critical period”, Tan Sri Dr Lim continued.

Earlier in the year, Top Glove had donated 3 million gloves to China as part of an initiative by the Malaysian government and Malaysian glovemakers.

With current utilisation levels above 90%, Top Glove is able to further ramp up production close to 100%, to meet the sudden surge in demand brought on by the pandemic.
