To provide scholarship opportunities for deserving undergraduates that are pursuing their first degrees in selected Taiwan universities.

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Malaysian students pursuing full time 1st degree courses in selected Taiwan universities and are in their 3rd or 4th year, are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Selected universities are as follows:
    • National Taiwan University
    • National Tsing Hua University
    • National Cheng Kung University
    • National Cheng Chi University (Business studies only);
  2. Possess good academic qualifications of a minimum average score of 80 (Engineering study) and 75 (Business study) based on previous year’s result;
  3. Active participation in extracurricular or sport activities;
  4. Applicants must be in good health and strong physique; and
  5. Applicants must not be presently holding other scholarship/loans with bonding period from any other corporation/Scholarship or governmental body.

SELECTION PROCESS

The Scholarship Committee will review the applications and shortlist eligible candidates for interviews. There will be one application review period and two stages of interviews before the final list of scholarship recipients is announced.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. The successful applicant must enter into a scholarship agreement with Top Glove Sdn. Bhd. ("the Company”).
  2. Each individual applicant is responsible for all costs incurred in the course of applying for the scholarship.
  3. The Company reserves the right to make changes to these Terms and Conditions without prior notice at any time and/or the right to cancel, modify, suspend, delay or withdraw its offer of the scholarship programme at its sole and absolute discretion and the applicant(s) will be bound by such changes.
  4. Only short-listed applicants will be notified via email and/or phone
  5. Successful applicants will be required to work with TOP GLOVE GROUP OF COMPANIES based on the duration of the scholarship upon completion of their studies. For instance, if the scholarship is for 2 years, the applicant is required to work in Top Glove for 2 years.
  6. Successful applicants will be awarded scholarships according to their respective disciplines as follows:
    • Scholarship amounting to RM 20,000 per year for Engineering undergraduate students.
    • Scholarship amounting to RM 17, 000 per year for Business undergraduate students.
  7. If you wish to apply for release before the commencement of the scholarship bond or to terminate the scholarship bond before the stipulated period, you are required to reimburse to the Company the value of the total scholarship as awarded to you.

GENERAL FAQ

  1. Why is Top Glove offering scholarships to Malaysian students who are studying in Taiwan?
    This is part of Top Glove’s CSR initiative and to bring Malaysian talents back to contribute to the nation’s economic development.
  2. Can applicants apply for other courses not listed as a Preferred Course?
    The Preferred Courses listed are the core courses Top Glove is interested in. Applicants whose courses are not listed, may also submit an application for consideration by the Scholarship Committee.
  3. How long will the scholarship selection process take before successful applicants are announced?
    The process will take 1 to 2 months from the close of receiving applications.
  4. Why are there more courses offered in Engineering/Sciences as compared to Business Management?
    Top Glove is the world’s largest manufacturer of gloves with many factories. We need talents from both streams. However, due to the nature of the industry, Engineering / Sciences make up the company’s core capability areas.
  5. Can one still apply for the scholarship if he/she does not meet the requirements under the Eligibility section?
    Yes. All applications will be duly considered by the Scholarship Committee before a final decision is made.
  6. Does the applicant have to list all the subjects taken in their previous semester in the application form?
    The applicants do not need to list all the subjects taken in the application form. However, the applicants will need to provide their results from previous semesters.
  7. Are there any specific banks that the scholarship funds may not be transferred?
    The only requirement for this scholarship is that the applicant must have a Malaysian bank account. The scholarship amount will be banked into the applicants’ account in Ringgit Malaysia.
  8. Will the applicant be required to submit all documents (receipt of payment, results, extracurricular activities document) at the beginning of every university semester?
    Yes. All these documents must be submitted at the beginning of every semester as this will be used for internal and future reference.
  9. Can the applicant apply for the scholarship for only 1 semester?
    No. Top Glove only provides scholarships to applicants who are in their 3rd and/or 4th year in university. Top Glove will continue to fund the applicant only if all requirements stated in the policy are met.
  10. What if the applicant fails to maintain the minimum academic score of 80 (Engineering Courses) and 75 (Business Courses)?
    The policy states that the scholar needs to maintain the minimum academic requirement. If the scholar fails to maintain the minimum scoring, he/she will be given a chance to present his/her justification to the Scholarship Committee before a decision regarding the continuation (or discontinuation) of the scholarship funding is made.
  11. Upon completion, will the applicant be given the opportunity to select the department and position?
    The applicant must inform Top Glove’s Recruitment Team two months prior to the end of the applicant’s final semester for allocation of a suitable job position that is related to their academic background.
  12. What is the salary range offered by Top Glove?
    Top Glove offers competitive salary and remuneration packages to our employees that commensurate with their qualification. Further information shall only be disclosed upon employment offer to successful applicants.
