OFFICIAL OPENING OF TOP GLOVE GLOBAL DOCTORS

MITI Minister inaugurates first ambulatory care centre in Setia Alam

 

Shah Alam, Tuesday, 29 August 2017 – Top Glove Global Doctors (TGGD), a joint venture between Top Glove Corporation Bhd and Global Doctors, was today officially inaugurated by Yang Berhormat Dato’ Sri Mustapa bin Mohamed, the Minister of International Trade & Industry.

Present to witness the momentous occasion were Top Glove Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai and Global Doctors Executive Chairman, Dato’ Dr Sharifah Fauziah. Also in attendance were Top Glove’s Board of Directors, the Management and Ethics Committee of Top Glove Global Doctors, as well as government officials, business associates and staff.

TGGD is a one-stop ambulatory care centre, offering a complete range of medical services encompassing diagnosis, observation, consultation, treatment, intervention and rehabilitation, on an outpatient basis.

The first ambulatory care centre to be established within the vicinity of Setia Alam and strategically located on Level 1 of Top Glove Tower, TGGD aims to serve the neighbouring community, focusing on preventive healthcare.

Tan Sri Dr Lim remarked, “I am very pleased to see these two names in healthcare, Top Glove and Global Doctors, come together to form TGGD, with a common objective: to provide high quality medical care, specialist and dental services to the community in and around Setia Alam”.

“I have the fullest confidence that under the sterling leadership of our committed and capable management team, TGGD will surely deliver on its Vision to impact lives positively”, he added.

Commenting on the joint venture, Dato’ Sharifah said, “It is an honour for Global Doctors to embark on this venture with Top Glove, a company with a stellar international reputation in the healthcare business. I am certain this will prove to be a fruitful partnership and look forward to growing our business together”.

Initiated by Top Glove, TGGD represents one of several ventures embarked on by the company in its quest to diversify into related businesses, which include glove inner packaging materials and condom manufacturing.

“At 26 years of age, we are still a young, dynamic company and aggressively expanding. However, we cannot depend solely on organic growth. For a company of our size to expand efficiently, we must also look at non-organic growth such as M&As and joint ventures in related businesses with suitable partners, such as Global Doctors”, Tan Sri explained.

The MITI Minister later also officially launched the Top Glove R&D Centre, located in Meru. Established in 2013, the centre drives innovation at Top Glove, focusing on developing new products and technologies, and advancing product enhancement.

Hosting some 200 guests in total, the ceremony included a ribbon cutting and plaque signing by YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa bin Mohamed. The MITI Minister also briefly toured TGGD as well as the R&D Centre, after which guests were treated to a sit-down lunch at the Top Glove Tower Grand Ballroom.
