Top honours for outstanding growth in the Asean Region

Klang, Nov 8, 2010 : Top Glove Corporation Bhd won the award for the "Most Admired ASEAN Enterprise" under Growth category at the ASEAN Business Awards 2010 recently.  

The award ceremony took place in Hanoi, Vietnam, on 27 October 2010 and honours companies who have contributed significantly to ASEAN's economic growth and progress. It was organised in conjunction with the 16th ASEAN Summit themed ‘Towards the ASEAN Community from Vision to Action'.

This year, the Awards drew 65 outstanding enterprises with 110 nominees to various categories including innovation, growth, employment and corporate social responsibility.

The annual ASEAN Business Awards, in its third year, is organised by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council. Results are based on the findings and evaluation by its independent strategic partner, KPMG.

According to Top Glove’s managing director Lee Kim Meow, who received the award on behalf of the company, winning the prestigious award especially for “Growth” category is indeed a feather in the cap for Top Glove as it recognizes the team effort by its employees, who worked hard towards achieving such impressive growth over the years.

For the past 15 years, Top Glove managed to achieve a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 38% for sales revenue and 37% for net profit attributable to equity. Its market capitalization is now more than USD1 billion.
