On 14 June 2009, Top Glove Foundation ("TG Foundation”), was officially launched with the objective of providing funds for the purpose of charity, education and activities related to environment and community.

The main objectives of TG Foundation are as follows:

  1. To provide funding for charitable purposes especially for the needy community through donations, sponsorships and other means.
  2. To provide funding for educational purpose by giving out scholarships, advancement of education and other educational related funding.
  3. To carry out other activities -in relation to the environment and community- that are allowed under the legislative provision of the government of Malaysia. The founders of TG Foundation were Top Glove Sdn Bhd, Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai and Puan Sri Tong Siew Bee.

The founders of TG Foundation were Top Glove Sdn Bhd, Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai and Puan Sri Tong Siew Bee. They collectively donated RM 1 million to the Foundation as a start. Since then several companies and individuals had also donated to the fund, thus enabling the Foundation to support and help even more causes.

Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai
Chairman of the Board of Trustee

Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Physics from University Malaya in 1982, and obtained his Master of Business Administration from Sul Ross State University in Texas, United States in 1985.

In 1991, Tan Sri Dr Lim founded Top Glove Sdn Bhd, a rubber glove manufacturing and trading business which started with only three production lines. Under Tan Sri Dr Lim’s visionary stewardship, Top Glove has since grown to be the world’s largest manufacturer of gloves, capturing about 26% of the world market share. Today, the company owns and operates 39 factories with 18,000 employees and a total of 634 production lines in Malaysia, Thailand and China. These factories have a production capacity of 59.09 billion pieces of gloves per annum, to meet the demand of over 1,000 customers in more than 195 countries.

Tan Sri was elected as the President of the Malaysia Rubber Glove Manufacturers’ Association (MARGMA) from 1997 to 1999, and was appointed as a Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers Council member for 2010/2011. He was the recipient of many awards and accolades, among others, like the prestigious Master and Country Entrepreneur of Malaysia for the Year, by Ernst and Young in 2004; and Entrepreneur of the Year at the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards 2008. In 2007, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia conferred on him the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Setia Mahkota (P.S.M.), which carries the title "Tan Sri" for his vast contribution to the nation’s economic development.

Dato Lee Kim Meow

Dato Lee was appointed as Trustee of Top Glove Foundation since its inception. Dato Lee is currently, the Managing Director of Top Glove Group of Companies.

He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia in 1982 majoring in Accounting, Finance and Information System. In 1991, he obtained his Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of London (External Degree).

He has more than twelve (12) years of experience in the marketing of financial services and credit control operations in the finance industry. In 1997, Dato Lee joined Top Glove as the General Manager in charge of the marketing and promotion of the Company’s products to more than one hundred and eighty (180) countries worldwide. He has been actively involved in the local Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers’ Association (MARGMA) and the regional Asean Rubber Glove Manufacturers’ Association (ARGMA) for more than 10 years. Dato Lee is the immediate Past President of MARGMA for the year 2009 to 2011.

Concurrently, Dato KM Lee is a Board Member of the Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council, the Malaysia Rubber Board and Committee Member of LGM Properties Corporation and LGM Investment.

Prof. Tou Teck Yong

Prof. Tou was appointed as Trustee of Top Glove Foundation since its inception.

Prof. Tou obtained his Bachelor’s and PhD degree in physics at University Malaya, Malaysia. His academic and research career at universities in Malaysia and Australia cover the fields of plasma, lasers, silicon, organic LED, thin films and characterisation techniques. He is also Fellow of Academy of Sciences Malaysia and Fellow of Institute of Physics Malaysia.

Prof. Tou has more than twenty-five (25) years experiences in academic field having worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in The Australian National University from 1987 to 1989, and a Research Fellow, Lecturer, Assoc. Prof., in University Malaya from 1989 to 1999. In 1999, he joined Universiti Multimedia as a Professor in the Faculty of Engineering.

Prof. Tou is concurrently an Independent Non-Executive Director of Mikro Msc Berhad.

Madam Chow Sow Fong

Madam Chow was appointed as Trustee of Top Glove Foundation on 6 June 2013.

Madam Chow holds a Bachelor of Science in Management & Organization from Indiana University, Bloomington USA.

Madam Chow was the Export Manager for PT Sunsoindo Textiles Industry, Bandung, Indonesia. She is currently the Managing Director of Trendtex Trading Sdn Bhd and the Director for Strata Park (M) Sdn Bhd.

On the social community service, Madam Chow is the member for the Board of Directors of Kuen Cheng High School and the Commissioner for Tzu Chi Foundation, Malaysia.

Dato’ Dr. Ir. Andy Seo Kian Haw

Dato’ Dr. Ir. Andy Seo Kian Haw was appointed as Trustee of Top Glove Foundation on 12 December 2018.

Dato’ Andy graduated in Production Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire, UK, and obtained a Master in Business Administration majoring in General Management from the University of Hull, UK. His qualifications include BEM/IEM/EC PT 1 & 2 in Mechanical Engineering. He enrolled in the Executive Edge Strategic Management course at London Business School, UK, the Strategic Management (Change Management) Executive Programme at IMD, Switzerland and received an Honorary Doctor of Science degree from the University of Hertfordshire, UK.

He began his career as a Production Engineer with Focus Para Wood Sdn Bhd in 1981, a Japanese rubber wood industry. In 1982, he joined Contraves Advance Devices (M) Sdn Bhd as Production Planning Engineer. He then joined LVD (M) Sdn Bhd in 1983 as a sales executive and was promoted to Technical & Service Manager. In 1989, he joined the General Electric Company of Malaysia Sdn Bhd as the General Manager of the Group Manufacturing Division. In 1998, he was appointed the Managing Director of KONE Malaysia; later on as the President Director of PT. KONE Indo Elevator, Indonesia and Business Development Director of KONE Asia South and Strategic Director of KONE Asia South (specializes in acquisition and merger). He was also the Senior Advisor/Consultant to KONE Malaysia (after his retirement from the company). He was also the first CEO of SERC Sdn. Bhd., a socio-economic research centre, funded by the ACCCIM SERC Trust. A Director of Seremban Engineering Berhad, a PLC in fabrication of process plant, oil & gas industries; a partner of Andy Seo & Associates, a management engineering consultancy practice, specializes in rehabilitation and profit-improvements of manufacturing companies (previously as consultant to Bank Bumiputra and Bank Pembangunan).

He serves as the Chairman and Director of numerous companies. Among those are Chairman of the Malaysian National Shippers’ Council (MNSC), SIRIM STS Sdn Bhd and Alphaprima Engineering Sdn Bhd, a company producing water-based rust converter; Board member of SIRIM Bhd since 1 July 2015, SIRIM QAS Sdn Bhd, SIRIM STV Bhd, Malaysian Steel Institute (MSI) under MITI and the German Malaysian Institute (GMI); Member of Corporation of SMECORP Malaysia. He is also the Chairman of Nomination & Remuneration Committee at SIRIM Bhd, Director of UH Global Education (Asia Pacific) Sdn. Bhd. and Director of E-Access Innoskills Training (M) Sdn. Bhd.

Madam Yeo Kar Peng

Madam Yeo Kar Peng was appointed as Trustee of Top Glove Foundation on 12 December 2018.

Madam Yeo holds a Bachelor of Economics (Majoring in Accounting and Finance) from the Monash University, Australia in 1983 and she is also an associate member of CPA Australia

Madam Yeo is the Chairman and Managing Partner of Kendall Court Capital Partners since 2004. She was appointed as Director of Sunway Real Estate Investment Trust on 2 January 2019. Before establishing Kendall Court in 2004, she was a Managing Director at Citigroup Global Markets from 1998.

She previously served Ernst and Whinney (now known as Ernst & Young) from 1983 to 1985, Ariffin and Low (now known as CIMB Securities) from 1985 to 1989, WI CARR Malaysia from 1989 to 1995, UBS Malaysia from 1995 to 1998.

She was appointed as a Director of Cenviro Sdn. Bhd. on 20 June 2017 and was a board member of Khazanah Nasional Berhad until 30 July 2018.

She is an active volunteer with Taiwan Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, a global charitable NGO. She currently co-heads the fund raising committee for Yayasan Pendidikan Tzu Chi Malaysia for the construction of the first Tzu Chi International School in Malaysia.
